While Europe is in the swing of the big Euro 2024 action this summer, another of the world’s leading international tournaments, Copa América 2024 will be in action at the same. This makes up a tremendous summer of soccer betting with an eye on top fixtures on either side of the Atlantic.
The big kick-off for Copa América 2024 is on June 20th as reigning champions Argentina face Canada in a Group A fixture. While that’s a big one to look out for in sport betting Ontario, the Canucks will face an uphill battle as underdogs in the match outright.
The tournament is being hosted by the United States across fourteen stadiums ranging from Florida and Georgia on the east coast, to Nevada and California out west. It is the second time that the US has hosted the tournament.
The host cities are:
1. Arlington, TC
2. Atlanta, GA
3. Austin, TX
4. Charlotte, NC
5. East Rutherford, NJ
6. Glendale, AZ
7. Houston, TX
8. Inglewood, Ca
9. Kansas City, KS
10. Kansas City, MO
11. Las Vegas, NV
12. Miami Gardens, FL
13. Orlando, FL
14. Santa Clara, CA
The Copa América 2024 Final is on July 14th at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. Who will be competing for the silverware in the showcase match?
There are sixteen teams in the 2024 Copa América odds with the ten CONMEBOL members from South America all eligible to enter. The numbers are made up by invitation and for this latest edition, six members of CONCACAF were asked to join.
While all CONMEBOL members automatically qualified, places for the six invited teams were based on performances from the 2023/24 CONCACAF Nations League, which was won by the US in March 2024.
This was an important invitation for CONCACAF as the United States, Canada and Mexico are jointly hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

CONCACAF Teams
Canada are the only debutant nation in the latest edition of the Copa América, raising plenty of interest in sport betting Ontario on their quest. The likes of the USA and Mexico have been regularly invited to the tournament since the 1990s.
The draw for the Copa América was seeded, with Argentina (reigning champions), Mexico (CONCACAF Gold Cup champions), USA (highest ranked CONCACAF team) and Brazil (next highest ranked CONMEBOL team) making up the top seeds from Pot 1.
One team from each of the four seeding pots were drawn into a group for the opening round of action at the tournament.
Group A: Argentina, Peru, Chile, Canada
Group B: Mexico, Ecuador, Venezuela, Jamaica
Group C: United States, Uruguay, Panama, Bolivia
Group D: Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay, Costa Rica
The top two teams from each group qualify for the quarter-finals where each group winner will play a runner-up from a different section.
The dates for the knockout stages of the Copa América 2024 are:
Quarter-finals: July 4th, 5th and 6th
Semi-finals: July 9th and 10th
Third place play-off: July 13th
2024 Copa América Final: July 14th
All previous editions of the Copa América were won by a South American team and for the latest Copa América betting, the usual names are at the top of the outright winner market. Argentina, the reigning Copa América and World Champions, are the outright favourites for the title at around a 7/4 quote in Copa América odds.
The Albiceleste beat Brazil 1-0 in the previous edition with Ángel Di María scoring the only goal of the Final in the 22nd minute, a fixture which was played at Brazil's famous Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
Brazil are not far behind their great rivals in the soccer betting market at around 9/4 to claim the title. Those Copa América odds make the duo the clear front-runners ahead of the rest of the pack. Uruguay are the only other team that occupies a spot in single figures in Copa América betting at around 5/1.
Mexico and the USA at around 11/1 and 12/1 respectively, lead the hopes for CONCACAF. Will this be the first edition of the famous competition that isn’t won by a South American team? Mexico have come the closest to making the breakthrough before, reaching the Final of the 1993 and 2001 editions.
With Argentina's Lionel Messi and Brazil’s Neymar ready to step into action, the Copa América odds for the Top Goalscorer market are interesting. Messi, who has 13 Copa América goals in his career, leads the way in favouritism for the soccer betting market. He needs five more to be the all-time top scorer in the competition and he scored four in the previous edition.
Messi’s teammates Lautaro Martinez and Julian Alvarez should also be in the reckoning, along with Colombia’s Luiz Diaz. Chile’s Eduardo Vargas helped his country to back-to-back titles in 2015 and 2016 and could be a dark horse in the market.
Along with Neymar, Brazil have Rodrygo and Vinícius Júnior as part of their powerful attack, while Uruguay will be looking for a big tournament from Liverpool forward Darwin Núñez.
Argentina and Uruguay are the joint all-time most successful nations in the history of Copa América, having each won it 15 times before. Argentina's 2021 title ended a long drought, as it was their first since 1993, as did Uruguay with their 2011 title being their first since 1995.
Since the mid 90s, Brazil have been the dominant force in the Copa América. Between 1997 and the latest edition, the Selecao have won five of the nine Copa América titles played for. Brazil’s most recent title in 2019 was their ninth success overall.
Interestingly, all eight CONMEBOL nations have won the title before, but only Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay have won it on more than two occasions. Bolivia (1964) and Colombia (2001) are at the bottom of the charts with only one win each.
Soccer betting for the Copa América is not just about the long forecasts like group winners and cup winners. Every match from the tournament will be covered with extensive soccer betting markets like Correct Score, Over/Under Goals, Half Time Result plus all fixtures will have live betting markets for in-game options.
