Andre de Grasse has been an athletics star for the better part of a decade, making good on what was seen early on as sky-high potential on the biggest stage of them all.

Now, the 29-year-old Canadian sprinter is down in Orlando, Florida, looking to get set for Paris 2024 and build back to his world-beating speed after bouts of injury and COVID-19.

Set to be one of Canada’s leading medal hopefuls in the French capital, and certainly a favourite in the odds of the best sport betting Ontario fans can bet on, his next Olympics will only enhance the Scarborough native’s fame.

Here, we’re delving into the glittering career of Andre de Grasse so far, his other ventures, and his potential net worth.

Who is Andre de Grasse?

Andre de Grasse is one of the fastest men on the planet as of the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympic Games – which took place in 2021. He owns a whole haul of Olympic medals and is well known for his relaxed personality.

The sprinter competes in 200m and 100m events as well as relays, and has long been upheld as one of the top track athletes in the world.

He started his ascension at Coffeyville Community College in 2013, moving on to compete for USC from 2015 onwards. That year, in May, he broke the ten-second mark in the 100m, clocking in at 9.97 seconds.

That year, he obliterated the competition at the NCAA Championships in 100m and 200m, earning a colossal sponsorship deal and embarked on his journey towards the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil.

What is Andre de Grasse’s Olympic Record?

Andre de Grasse has competed at two Olympic Games – Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 – and won one gold medal, two silver medals, and three bronze medals.

Both Summer Olympic Games saw De Grasse come back to Canada with three medals. In Rio de Janeiro, he won silver in the 200m and bronze in the 100m and 4x100m relay.

In 2021, at the delayed Tokyo Olympics, De Grasse repeated with a bronze medal in 100m, helped to upgrade Canada to silver in the 4x100m relay, and landed the coveted gold medal for his 200m run.

De Grasse famously had a cheeky rivalry with Usain Bolt from the start of his professional career. In Brazil, while the races were too fast to jump on the live betting midway through, the Canadian had many thinking he’d beat the Jamaican superstar in qualifiers.

For each of his medals, De Grasse has earned from the Athlete Excellence Fund of Canada, which pays $10,000 for a bronze, $15,000 for a silver, and $20,000 for a gold Olympic medal. Top five placing at the World Championships also nets $5,000.

How Else Does Andre de Grasse Earn Money?

De Grasse hit the big time very early on in his career. The Canadian sprinter netted a Puma pro deal worth at least $11.25 million in December 2015, with that potentially being worth $30 million over the multi-year deal

Given his performances at the 2020 Olympic Games, and that he’s done work with Puma away from the track as recently as the ‘Only See Great’ campaign in August 2022, it’d be fair to assume that he’s been closing in on the top end of the deal.

The sprinter is noted as being prudent with his cash, and in September 2023, he founded ADG Ignite Ventures to further his activity in the field of start-up investing. Prior, De Grasse had already dipped his toe in this field.

As well as ADG Ignite Ventures, De Grasse has his own charity (the Andre De Grasse Family Foundation) and penned his own book, Ignite, which was published by Harper Collins in October 2023.

What is Andre de Grasse’s Net Worth?

A famed athlete, one of Canada’s most successful of all time, and currently one of the fastest men on the planet, you already know that Andre de Grasse’s net worth is a seven-figure value or more.

Without being De Grasse’s accountant or the man himself, it’s next to impossible to work out an accurate figure for his net worth. Some websites estimate it to be around $4 million.

Given his Puma deal, triumph at the Olympics, and seemingly prudent use of his cash and investments, it’d be fair to assume that the figure for De Grasse’s net worth is north of $4 million – likely upwards of $10 million.

Andre de Grasse is one of Canada’s top athletes, and if he attends the Paris 2024 Games, he’ll likely only add more medals to his already very impressive collection.

Top of the agenda are hockey, soccer, and boxing, but there's always time for the NFL, cricket, Formula One, and a bit of mixed martial arts.
